Carlsbad Unified School District is facing a projected fiscal deficit of almost $11 million in the 2012-13 school year. We are working through a process with the Carlsbad Unified School District Board to determine the best way to approach this challenge. During the most recent School Board meeting potential expenditure reduction considerations were placed into three grouping categories:

1) Strong potential for reduction
2) Moderate potential for reduction
3) Low potential for reduction

Now we are in the research and analysis phase for those items placed in the first two groups and we are asking for your input to assist in the process.

Specific recommendations will be presented to the School Board on November 9th, 2011.
