The Sioux Gateway Airport and a local community college are exploring the concept of a new Commerical Aviation Program in Sioux City. This program could involve partnering with another institution of higher learning to offer four-year degrees in commercial aviation, air traffic control, airport management, flight education and other aviation-related fields.

The goal of the program is to provide new educational opportunities for students. The program will develop individuals who possess excellent aviation technical abilities, superior communication and teamwork skills, and are adaptable to change. Students in commercial aviation should seek life-long learning, effectively utilize technology and have an appreciation of other cultures in order to ensure successful contributions in the global and dynamic aviation industry.
