3. The Commitment that active Committee Participants make is to attend 9 of the first 11 monthly meetings of the STEM Committee. Meetings will take place virtually for ninety minutes. Participants will be actively engaged in creating the Committee work plan, and commit to at least one item on the workplan. Accomplishing these goals may have commitment outside of regularly scheduled meetings not to exceed three hours monthly.

Follows is a summary of some of the proposed work of the STEM Committee of the California Afterschool Network. What do you feel should be the two main activities/priorities/goals of the Committee? Advise and inform statewide coordination (from the California Afterschool Network) of a multi-year initiative seeking to advance high quality STEM learning opportunities in California.

Advise and inform the development and work of regional supports to increase high quality STEM learning experiences in a region.

Advise and inform the development of a web-based (virtual) support system that connects programs to appropriate resources to meet their STEM goals.

Create resources for the field such as a needs and readiness assessment. Such an assessment would assist programs in clarifying their goals and examining their existing capacities in order to match them to the most appropriate and useful resources.
