The U.S. Department of Energy Joint Genome Institute (DOE JGI) is currently undergoing a major strategic planning effort to identify key scientific and technological focus areas that will define its role as a genomic DOE user facility over the next 10 years. A first draft of a 10-Year Strategic Vision has been developed and posted on the DOE JGI website (link: http://1.usa.gov/JGI-10-Year-Strategic). This draft was released in fall 2011 and, with your and other input, will be developed into the final 10-year Strategic Plan to be released in fall 2012.
