The Bloomberg Philanthropies announced the City of Memphis will be one of 394 U.S cities participating in the Bloomberg Philanthropies Mayors Challenge, a competition to inspire American cities to generate innovative ideas that solve major challenges and improve city life (click here for more information http://mayorschallenge.bloomberg.org/index.cfm?objectid=521837D0-DB24-11E1-8D16000C29C7CA2F).

The City of Memphis' submission will create a Talent Innovation Fund with the objective of distributing an aggregate of $1M annually toward competitively sourced, small-scale projects as a way to weave continued innovation into the fabric of our city. Each talent idea must specifically show how it will postively change at least key Talent metric.

Winning cities will be selected based on their idea’s vision and novelty, potential for impact, potential for replication in other cities, and the quality of the implementation plans.
