GLBT IN COMICS

The scope of the event is to educate students and adults about GLBT Comic Book characters and how they have long been a part of the comic book world. The event will be a panel discussion of artists and writers who draw or write about famous characters such as Wonder Woman, Shadoweyes, X-Men, Dark Wolverine, WetMoon, Sentinels, NeverMinds and Mind the Gap.  They will discuss how their Comic characters evolved, and give insight about their own careers’ progression into the comic book industry.  The Panel will also include editors from Marvel Comics, DC Comics and Vertigo Comics.   This event occurs the day before NYC Comic Con.  Signed comic books, Tickets to Comic Con 2012 (Courtesy of Lance Fensterman, Director of NY Comic Con) and other products will be provided as door prizes.   

NY Times employees and friends/relatives who are comic fans are welcome. The Audience will include GLBT & Allies students from schools supported by Live Out Loud, True Colors Fund,  and other schools. .
