3. Have you ever been in charge of or have been asked to research, price and order consumable clinical laboratory supplies of any kind, e.g. fluorescent markers, primers, plasmids, etc?
4. If so, what kind of laboratory supplies have you researched, priced and ordered?
5. How did you go about tracking down the lab supplies needed and where did you order the lab supplies from?
6. How does your lab normally determine where lab supplies are ordered from? For example, is there a contract with a specific company that provides the products? Are you instructed to find the cheapest source or type? Do you order locally for a physical pickup, have it shipped in from an online source, etc?
7. On a scale of 1-5 (5 being the highest), please describe how relevant the following factors are in determining the which supplies are ordered
The company selling/distributing the product
The company that makes the product
Researcher preference
8. Has your lab ever changed from one lab supply product or lab supply product line to another, if not once then on a regular basis? What were the reasons for the switch?
