The NALP Foundation has committed to undertake an important research project to begin an exploration of civility within the legal industry. The way that we choose to communicate with each other has a very real connection to law firm productivity and engagement as well as to attorney well-being. Difficult working relationships are one of the greatest causes of on the job stress[1] which costs companies $300 billion annually[2]. We take on this research in the hopes of giving law firms a mechanism to identify and mitigate this type of interpersonal communication.
The following survey will take less than 10 minutes of your time. The survey will take place on a secure website. Complete confidentiality and anonymity are guaranteed. The firm will not have access to your responses. We never release any research data that could be used to identify an individual or organization. We do not identify participants by name, law firm, responses, or outcomes.
