Introduction

"Nova Scotia currently doesn't have a horse competition / event facility that fully meets the needs of clubs, event organizers and participants."

This survey is designed primarily to assess the above statement from the perspective of people who participate in competitions and clinics / camps. It is also designed to assess preferences for facility services. A similar survey of horse club board members and event organizers is also being conducted.

Responses from Participants who live too far away to attend events in Nova Scotia are welcome and appreciated, to add insight to facility planning, but their responses will be tabulated separately and some questions won't be relevant.

Only question # 1 is mandatory. Please skip any other questions that don't relate to you, or answer 'not applicable' or 'N/A'.

The survey results will be used to assist a small group of investors in deciding whether to build their new facility with the capability to host competitions and events, and if so, what the most important services are.

Each completed survey is eligible to be entered in a draw for a $50 prize for a Nova Scotia horse club / association of your choice. The winner will be announced by email where contact information is provided and also posted on facebook and Twitter. You can follow the progect's progress by 'liking' or 'following'.

We're looking for your thoughts and opinions. This survey is intended to give a rider's / driver's / participant's perspective on the questions, not to provide scientific research.

The results are confidential - the detailed information you provide won't be sold or shared with anyone. A high level summary of results, with no identifying information, will be provided to survey participants if they are interested. The survey takes about 10 to 15 minutes to fill out and your participation is greatly appreciated.

The survey will be open until June 18, 2011.
